Good morning!
Since I am split between two buildings I have to juggle parent teacher conference times. In order to keep it simple, I will be available for the MIDDLE SCHOOL PT conferences ONLY. High school parents are welcome to visit me at the middle school on: Wednesday, November 1 4:00-6:30pm Thursday, November 2 After School-4:00 If there are any immediate questions, please email me at bradley.saniga@orchardview.org and I will get back to you ASAP. Thank you! The 2017-2018 OV Choir syllabus is being handed out today! This one page document includes: expectations, the calendar, grading scale, concert information, and our learning targets. It is very important that every parent/guardian view and sign this document (due Fri, Oct. 6). I included both the middle school and high school dates on the calendar, you are encouraged to attend all the events if you can! The middle school has three mandatory concerts: 12/14, 2/22, and 5/16. The high school has nine dates (see calendar). If a syllabus is lost or forgotten, you can download a replacement below. Also, you may return to this page at any time to view the syllabus. Please check the website calendar for updates. Thanks!
Fall FundraiserThe Goodies Factory fundraiser starts today! You have two weeks to sell, sell, sell! Check previous blog post for more info! Revue Show 2018SyllabusTomorrow I will be handing out the 2017-2018 choir syllabus. All choir dates (MS/HS) will be included as well as general expectations. Please review, sign, and return by Friday, Oct. 6!
Happy Friday!
On Monday (Oct. 2) the choir will start their fall cookie dough and popcorn fundraiser with The Goodies Factory! Money raised goes toward the choir's general fund and helps support and maintain the reputation of excellence enjoyed by Orchard View Choir. If a HS student is planning on attending the NYC trip in April, $5 per item sold will be credited toward their trip payment. On Monday, the students will receive two brochures, an item order sheet, and this cover letter. This fundraiser is a fantastic way to support the Orchard View choir program and enjoy some delicious treats! Permission slips for the 2018 HS NYC trip will b rolled out this week (by grade level). Seniors will have priority as this will be their last year in choir. The permission slip includes a packet about the trip and our tour group GTP.
As an educator, this will be my second trip to NYC with a choir (my first was in 2016 with Whitehall). I know that the price is high, but I can assure you that the trip is worth it! Our schedule in NYC is jammed full of musical, educational, and fun activities (see packet for details). My single most memorable memory from high school is when I traveled with the band to Florida. I built friendships and made memories that I cherish to this day. We will be doing two fundraisers this year to help student pay for their trip (one in October and one in January). All important information is on the permission slips, including: price, pay dates, and trip details. Parents wishing to travel as chaperones must pay the same price as students (you will be included in all activities!). The trip will be limited to 50 students/chaperones, so if you are interested in the trip make your first (down) payment as soon as possible! I look forward to an awesome year of music making!
